The Sustainable Building Advisor Program At Gateway Community College

snapshot-2009-06-09-13-58-02“The National Sustainable Building Advisor Program (NaSBAP) offers a 9-month certificate training course and exam specifically designed for working professionals eager to apply sustainable concepts to the buildings they design, develop, and construct. The Sustainable Building Advisor (SBA) course welcomes a diverse range of students drawn from architecture and planning firms, engineering companies, developers and contractors, government agencies, research institutions, resource conservation organizations, utilities and environmental consulting organizations.” Visit http://www.nasbap.org

There will be a free information session about the program on Wednesday June 17, August 19, and September 9 at 7:00 p.m. on Gateway Community College’s North Haven Campus.

I teach the Daylighting component of the course, focusing on the integration of natural and electric lighting, maximizing daylight, glare reduction strategies, daylight modeling, and energy efficiency. I give a “Rapid History of Daylighting” review, featuring exceptional examples of naturally lit spaces.
